The search now covers 176 places — dorms, dining, bars, restaurants, classes and core requirements. It has not been checked against Tulane's own current pages, so a name, a location, or an open/closed status here could be wrong or out of date.

New places are read by a person before they show up in search, the same way scoops are. If it's already here under another name, we'll merge it rather than make a second one.
A place name is a text field a stranger fills in, which makes it the same kind of risk as a review — and an easier one to miss. Someone can put an attack, a slur, or a person's name into the name of a place and it will then appear in search results, page titles and headings across the site, attached to every review filed under it.
The moderation rule for names has not been written. It needs to cover at minimum: no individuals as places (an instructor is added as a course and teaching entry, not as a person-shaped entity), no slurs or attacks in a name, no duplicates, and no joke entries. Trust-and-safety's call, and it blocks opening submissions.

This list was assembled from the categories requested in conversation. Nothing here comes from research into what Tulane students actually want to post about, and the pitch has still never been read. Confirm before treating the list as final.
“Professors & teaching” permits naming instructors, as long as the post is about their teaching, not about them as a person. This is the highest-risk category on the site, and the rule allowing it has not yet been reviewed by anyone qualified to weigh in on that risk.
