CampusScoop

Say what you wish someone had told you.

CampusScoop is where Tulane students write down what they actually learned here β€” which dorms, which classes, which advice nobody thought to give you. The next person gets to start where you left off.

No names. No pile-ons. Every post is read by a person before it goes up.

How it works

1

Pick a thing

A dorm, a class, a bar, a stand at the LBC. Whatever you have an opinion about.

2

Say the useful part

A few sentences. The thing you wish you'd known before you found out yourself.

3

A person reads it

Follows the rules, it goes up. Doesn't, it doesn't. Nothing publishes automatically.

What people post about

Two worlds, and you probably have opinions about both.

Why we wrote the rules before we opened

Most sites like this launch first and write their rules after something goes wrong. We did it the other way round. The Rules are up before there is a single post on this site, because they are the whole point β€” a place to be honest about Tulane only works if it is not a place to go after people.

So: you can say a class was disorganized, and you can say who taught it. You cannot say a person is worthless. Same name, different post β€” one helps somebody pick a course, the other is just a swing. That line is the difference between something useful and something that gets shut down, and we would rather be clear about it now than sorry about it later.

What goes on here

The things you only learn by being here. Which dorm actually has hot water. Which 8am is worth it and which one isn't. Where to eat when the dining hall shuts. What you'd tell yourself freshman year if you could go back.

Not gossip, not who someone is β€” how a class actually ran, whether a place is worth it. The practical stuff nobody puts in a brochure.

How a post gets published

You write it. You give a Tulane email address, which never appears on the site β€” only a moderator sees it. A person reads your post. If it follows the rules, it goes up. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Moderator identity and response time are still being worked out β€” see The Rules for exactly where that stands.

Two minutes. One scoop.

It saves somebody a semester of working it out the hard way.
